At Epson Manufacturing Solutions, we provide a comprehensive RC+ software platform designed to support users of all skill levels. The main environment, Epson RC+ 8.0, is available in two editions to fit different use cases: a Lite version, free of charge, and a Basic version, offered at a fixed cost. Both editions are coding-oriented, giving developers full control for building advanced automation solutions.

For users with little or no robotics or programming experience, the RC+ platform also includes a code-less, drag-and-drop development environment Epson RC+ Express. This interface is always included and makes it easy to create robot applications without writing code.

Whether you’re an expert developer or just starting with automation, the Epson RC+ software suite provides flexible tools to help you build powerful robot applications with confidence.

FAQs

How can I activate a licence?

Licences can be activated directly within the RC+ interface. Please refer to the user guide (page 17) for detailed steps.

How can I upgrade from Lite to Basic?

New users can upgrade by providing consent to share robot data. This upgrade is free of charge until January 2027.

What kind of data is collected if I consent to share my robot data?

Real time operational data is shared only while your system is online. (See user guide, page 18.)

Can I withdraw my consent later?

Yes, you can withdraw consent at any time via the system settings. (See user guide, page 19.)

I am already using RC+. Do I need to upgrade?

You can continue using your existing version, but older editions will eventually stop receiving updates. Upgrading to RC+ Basic is recommended and free until January 2027.

Will upgrading affect performance?

No. RC+ Basic offers the same or improved functionality compared to previous versions.

What happens if my robot is offline?

Offline systems will not be upgraded automatically. Updates occur only when connected online.

Can I transfer a licence between users or regions?

No. RC+ licences are user based and non transferable.

What happens after 31 March 2026 if I am using a trial version?

After this date, all trial licences will automatically revert to the Basic edition.
